IPS 42"

Hi all
My boy just Knocked my 42" lg42ln540v ips TV off the unit and smashed it so I need to find a replacement to tell the insurance any ideas of what to suggest to them

I use it for pc gaming and the odd xbox gaming and watching films from my pc the LG was fine for what I used it for I'm no sure if I can add to it to get a better screen I can't report it to the insurance till Tuesday I'll ask when I phone but to be honest I can't really afford to add to it as i think the excess is around £100 and just spent a fortune on Xmas I'll see what they offer me first.
I think the insurance is a replacement apose to a payout so I think I should be looking at TVs of the same spec

well the insurance wanted £250 exess so ive just gone out and bought a lg43uf680v
just need to set it up now do i need to get a new hdmi cable as the lady in the shop said i would need a new one somthing to do with the 4k

at the moment im using a dvi to hdmi cable as my hdmi one also broke when the tv fell
im just looking for the best colour settings at the moment

i did have a look at the sony but the thing was i had £150 of currys vouchers that my mum gave me she one them in a raffle b4 christmas so she said i could have them to put towards a new tv and currys did not sell the sony one i got the lg for £399
so i only had to pay £249

do you think i should take it back and see if they have a better one for my needs ?? for the same money

well just tryed playing a bit of battlefield and battlefront and it seems very laggy so i looks like it will be going back tomorrow any suggestions on a tv from the currys range

i have just done that now and it seems much better still a little laggy im going to get a new hdmi cable in the morning as im using a dvi to hdmi at the moment ill give the new cable a go and see what happens b4 i take it back

Well took it back to the shop they won't give me a refund as I have opened it so it looks like I'm stuck with it

Well I took it back to another branch of currys and swaped it no problem so now have a Sony KDL43W756CSU

well just done a few hours on battlefront and this is the best (TV) ive ever used for pc gaming was a unexpected purchase due to my other one getting broke but its so much better
