I am just about to order a monitor for my PC gaming, I am considering this one:

Asus VX229H 22" Widescreen AH-IPS LED Multimedia Monitor - Black

It's an IPS 21.5 monitor, will this be ok for FPS games? BF4, Wolfenstein, Titanfall etc?

My current monitors resolution is not full HD it's 1440x900 and is easily 5-8 years old, so wanted to update it to get better visuals etc.. Aswell as PC gaming I will also use it for my PS4, but mainly PC.

I have read a few places that IPS will give ghosting, but other sources say not, anyone have experience of playing fast paced. FPS on an IPS monitor?

Thanks.

Cheers for the responses, I need a smallish monitor due to my gaming area space! Have a 19inch at the moment, can't go to anything over 22inch as it would be too big!

The monitor I have currently is 5ms response time and a lesser resolution 1440x900 and is 70hz, so I am not used to 120hz etc and on a budget.

I am fairly serious about FPS, as in it's my main game type I play, but I wouldn't say I am anything special, I have also recently been playing on a Sony syncmaster tv which has an awful resolution of 1360 x 768, so I am hoping the step up in quality will show and I won't notice any slight issues with blur etc as the picture should be so much better than I am used to anyway!

I was able to get the monitor for £120, so not a bad price.

Update:
Well in the end I got the monitor:

I had a think and although I play a lot of FPS, I am nowhere near a pro! I consider getting a K/D ratio of 1.xx as good enough, as I shot more people than shot me, and that's the overall score I get in most games I play, so am far from being pr0! But I enjoy the games!

I have used the monitor for a few days now on cod, titanfall, Wolfenstein and watchdogs and I don't personally notice any issues with the blur or ghosting. This could be because of the monitors I have had in the past, but regardless I am happy and the picture quality is great. Makes all my games look really good with my 7970.

I have also tried fifa on my PS4 and that is really crisp aswell.

Thanks for all the advice...

Those on a budget I would recommend this monitor!
