Hi guys. To cut a long story short, I just bought a nice new beast of a gaming laptop. It has a 17" IPS screen (LP173WF4-SPD1), which while bright and very colourful, has a uniform luminous 'glow', panel-wide, that makes the blacks look grey, and crushes detail. It is VERY distracting in games with dark scenes (you literally can't make out any fine detail and is really annoying me now. It is noticeably worse than my old laptop that also has a 15" LG IPS panel (LP156WF5-SPB1).
I have tried manually overriding settings with Nvidia control panel and:
However, it is still noticeable. Am I stuck with this? Shall I try and RMA, or would I likely get a panel that does exactly the same?

- Reducing gamma
- Reducing brightness
- Reducing contrast
