Just wanted to post 3 more samples of IR shots using my Fujifilm Finepix s9500. I've actually taken loads but I've not got many that I'm happy with, but these are postable. The main problem is that you only have 30 secs max exposure, even on Bulb mode! So you need some pretty decent light. The hotspot changes in size and shape depending on focal length and is too intense to deal with at around 50mm (Equiv.).

Anyway, enough blurb, here are the examples:

C & C welcome.

I'll keep trying, getting lighter in the evenings and I'm going to Devon for a long weekend this weekend so see what's on offer :)

Cheers,

Mohain

Thanks for the comments chaps. I can try 'shopping the gravestone out ... (lol, joking :p )

Can't wait for all the leaves to appear on the trees so I can go mad with the filter :D Expect forum flooding soon ;)

Mohain, 2 and 3 are both really nice. I tried adjusting the levels in no.3 and gave it more punch but you maybe liked the more muted effect you already have?

Nice shots 1 and 2 stand out for me, how bad is the hotspot btw? I used to readily have to burn the hotspot out when i shot with my dimage 5, a lot of the time it is fixable :)

Thanks Steep and ST8.

Steep, I don't mind you editing, feel free to post it if you want.

ST8 The hotspot is usually large and soft and does need burning, colour replacement, etc etc to deal with. It's a right pain TBH and at certain focal lengths it's too intense to deal with.

Cheers,

Mohain

Thanks Steep. I think your image says 'nice day with IR filter' rather than having a dead/abandoned feeling I think mine has. Perhaps something in between the two is needed? Also I think I'm going to fork out on a calibration as these looks miles different on my home monitor to my work's one. And thanks Colin :)
