Hi all

Total tech recluse here, my knowledge is simply get the latest Apple product

Looking for pc for sim racing titles only.

I’m not adverse to building it myself, however if the price difference for a pre built is negligible I’d go that route.

Budget wise £800-£1000

Future proofing isn’t so much of a concern I’d be happy with 3 years life expectancy as I’m sure by then the novelty would have worn off and I’ll go back to console.

Screen wise I’ve the - aoc 49’’

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Wow, the resolution is enormous :o

Are you hoping to play your racing games at that resolution?
pixel count 7,372,800 vs 8,294,400 for 4k monitor..ouch..right up there in the 4k pixel pushing category

@saxmaster as you're happy with 3yrs life and no upgrade, being sim racing, I'd go am4 build with the 5700x3d. you'll want the cache of x3d for sim racing, and you'll need to save as much as possible for the gpu...even then not sure it'll be enough. you'll want something like a 4070super to push those pixels and that's £569 at mo just for the gpu.
be aware though am4 has been replaced with am5 platform

4070super just too expensive...going new best I could do...you could prob shave a bit getting cheaper case/psu etc

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,017.92 (includes delivery: £0.00)

below he explains a bit about cpu/gpu pairing..5700x3d more than enough for the gpu...gpu will be the limiting factor..as the monitor is superwide, it's pushing a lot of pixels, so you can compare it to a 2 1440p screen side by side. the 7800xt is slightly slower than the 6900xt(previous gen but level up), but fairly close and the 6900xt is pushing 3 1440p screens so being worked harder..so hopefully you'll get something similar in performance by the end

below is relative performance and you can see the 6900xt is 3% faster than the 7800xt, so not much in it, and the 7800xt will only be pushing the equivalent of 2 1440p screens, not 3 as in the vid below

so below is a 6900xt and 5800x3d pushing 3 x 1440p screns sim racing. 5800x3d is slightly faster cpu than the 5700x3d, but not much in it at 4k, and it's out of stock as production finished and generally another £100...so not worth it
