Iridium Spark Plugs

Am going to give my 1098s a service next week. Usual things, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, clean the dust out of the clutch and so on. But also thought i might change the plugs at the same time. Now comes the dilemma, standard plugs or Iridium plugs ?
So the question is, who's used them, are they better than standard plugs and what if any difference did they make to your bikes running ?

Think i might just stick with the standard plugs then.
I had read that they need a slightly larger "gap" than normal plugs and this can cause the coils life to be shorter. If that's the case, i'd rather change the plugs more often than have to change the coils.
