Has anyone recently been granted Irish citizenship through their grandparent recently? I'm about to start the process but was interested to hear how long it took you?
Foreign births register had about a two year delay last time I looked. hopefully that's improved now. We did it for our kid pre covid and it was only a few months.

How did you find the process other than long? I've pretty much got all the certificates, but do they need to be certified or are they happy to accept the originals?
Can't remember now, best check out the relevant Irish government sites. IIRC we sent original docs. Looking at the site it looks like it's 9 months now so improving.
You can register your birth on the Foreign Births Register if you are eligible to become an Irish citizen. Find out what you need to do before you begin your online application.
