Ok i'm gettings ome odd pc behaviour which started yesterday for no apparant reason. I will start my pc and everything will be fine and dandy then after a certain period of time my wireless connection will stop working. I figured out that it was the usb ports that stopped working (as i am using a usb wireless adapter). Also the nforce 4 network controller will be disabled and i can't be enabled again. It will only all work again when i restart my pc.

I looked in my irq list and it says that my 8800gtx shares the same irq as the 'texas instrumenst ohci compliant ieee 1394 host controller', is this right or should they be on a different number irq?

Also the 'standard openhcd usb host controller' shares the same irq as the 'nvidia network bus enumerator'.

Are these symptoms of an irq conflict and if so how do i fix it?

I'm sure that's ok because it's only the first 15 that are fixed legacy IRQs. The ones thereafter are all hot swappable for "P&P devices so I don't think's it's too uncommon to see the two devices sharing the same IRQ. IRQ assignment is usually handled by the APIC, in conjunction with the HAL and ACPI.

I have the same system so I have a look at mine when I get back.

hm, maybe its something else. To be honest i may just reformat because its got a bit buggy and filled with crap anyway so its due for a reformat.
