irql_not_less_or_equal bluescreen after uninstalling kaspersky av 2009

Now I can only boot intO safe mode. This is with windows xp pro sp3...

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did yOu fix it?

Try running the removal tool from within Safemode. This works on all versions of Kaspersky Anti-virus.

If I recall correctly when I had that blue screen, I had to boot into Recovery Console and then run "fixboot" and "fixmbr".
This wasn't down to Kaspersky in my case though, so this might not help.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick, this is the first time I've had software cause a BSOD!

It probably borked a system file on its way out. When removing AVs I always try to use the removal tool if one exists. The uninstallers are usually crap.
