Hi there

I am not up to date, so am wondering if 20,000 in 3D Mark 2005 is considered good.

What are the highest scores people have here?

20k is pretty good, my 1900xtx would score around 10k - 12k.

I'm presuming you have a dual card rig

.

Its a Crossfire PC, so is 20k good for Crossfire, its not Quad SLi....

thats an excellent score, come on then whats it with? :P

Maverick-SG1 - 21777.00 - dual GeForce 7900 GTX @ 760/910mhz - Kentsfield 6700 @ 4222mhz, 2Gb DDR2 4-4-4-10, 7900GTX SLI 760/910

^

with 26k being the current #1 score on hwbot (not sure about the orb though)

x1950xtxs?

EDIT: just looked on the orb, searching for all cards + all processors and all drivers 20k would get you in the top6 :o

1. crotale (NordicHardware OC Team) - 26278.00 - Kinc + crotale Live @ Dreamhack Summer 2006
2. kyosen (XtremeSystems) - 24881.00 - Conroe E6700 ES @ 4.5G , Radeon X1900CF @ 792/891
3. freecableguy (XtremeSystems) - 24830.00 - Conroe E6700 @ 4.5GHz * single stage*, ATI X1900XTX CF @ 760/873 *water*

the 3 current top 05 scoreson hwbot

damnit hurry up and reply i want to know what new toy you have :p

Asus motherboard, HIS x1900xtx crossfire, conroe x6800, Tagan 900w PSU... am I close?

Its our sample stuff:-

X6800 ES
Intel Bad Axe (How the hell do I overclock on this thing?)
HIS ICEQ3 X1900 Master Card
HIS ICEQ3 X1900 XTX
Corsair 6300C2 2GB Kit!

All I can say its such an amazingly fast system and surprisingly quiet. :)

oh to those bits + x1950xtxs in crossfire should be even better again! awesome!

i cant wait to build my new system now lol, got about 2 months of saving still to do though :(

So that score is with a stock CPU?

As for the bad axe the BIOS is meant to be awful to navigate, best off asking on XS or something.

Very nice. I wish I had a spare £1500.

As for overclocking not sure if you were being serious or not but have a look here. Maybe not a great idea for sample products but if you decide to give it a go be sure to let us know how far your new Ultima Extreme system can go :D

Yeah you have to short the debug pins to get the OC options iirc :)

Debug pins?

I updated the BIOS and now I can change the multiplier and CPU voltage along with some powerslope option, should this be on?

Though FSB seems to be increased by some positive percentage malarky which works but seems limited at 440FSB, how can I get higher?

It looks like you can use clockgen to get a bit higher

altho the highest seems to be 466? :(

Notice the 3-pin header called "BIOS CONFIG" used for flashing and maintenance mode. Now...notice the empty silk-screen locations (OC DEBUG) above that in the picture? Intel has purposefully not shown the through-holes in their pictures as they have been blacked out. (I have shown them with the yellow circles.)

Mod: Short together the holes shown. Use either conductive ink or solder. If you wish, install a header and use an extra shorting bar from your included accessories to make this mod changable!

When you boot and enter the BIOS you will have full control over CPU VID (vcore), Enhanced Power Slope (reduces vdroop to 50% default), and Default Bus Override (533, 800, 1066, 1333Mhz) with the ability to go 30% over your set FSB! ClockGen also works with the ICS 954123 PLL chip. Please donate if you find the program useful.

Note: Some people have reported that this mod is not needed with B0 stepping Conroe ES CPUs on the newer rev 304 MB. Do the mod if you need to, otherwise this gains nothing.

Link as above

I remember when there was some hype when a guy got the new record of ~16000 in 3DMark05 :p He was using LN2 as well and the rig didn't last long at those speeds.
