The PSU listed is just a placeholder, I would like to go for the seasonic 520w fanless if it is sufficient

I would say your right at the limit with that PSU. If I was spending that sort of cash I would be getting a 1000w. Not that, that much is needed it's just so it would last.

Get a decent makes 700+w

Wow, surprised at the crappy choices of psu in that system builder. The EVGA 500w and 600w units are basic units that are not very good. The only ones worth considering that are in stock are the Superflower Platinum King 550w and 650w units (both of which are the same price at the moment so go for the 650w) or the XFX XTR 750w. The two Superflowers have fixed cables while the XFX is fully modular and is basically a tweaked Seasonic G series. You don't actually need 650/750w as that pc will easily run off a quality 550w psu. The most the pc in my siggy has pulled at the wall is just under 300w with the GTX 1070 heavily overclocked while benching. Gaming use is anything up to 252w at the wall. People always over estimate how big a psu they actually need.

I would really like to go for one of these if they are enough.

in eco mode, with the idea being that the draw on it would not be high enough to get the fan spinning (most reviews for these have fan spinning up around 500W)

leaning towards the Super flower leadex, because it is on offer.

The 520W PSU will be more than sufficient. I was running a greater load on a 460W fanless PSU.

The GTX 1080 has a TDP of 180W and the CPU a TDP of 91W, so 271W total. Motherboards and drives don't consume much. So you'll have over 200W of overhead for overclocking.

Get the 850 super flower. 500w is pushing it. You won't be able to overclock or upgrade and that's if it even runs with just 500w

Do you have anything to back this up out of interest? It goes against everything I've read previously. I agree with pastymuncher, a quality 500w will handle it fully overclocked with room to spare.

Stop talking nonsense, 500w is not pushing it at all as long as it's a quality psu that can deliver all of it's power on the 12v rail. It only becomes a problem if it's a poor quality 500w unit with a weak 12v rail. I doubt if that build would pull much more than mine even with overclocking. Like I said earlier, the most the pc in my siggy has pulled at the wall is just under 300w with the GTX 1070 heavily overclocked while benching. Gaming use is anything up to 252w at the wall. I have everything that is overclockable overclocked plus I have water cooling with a pair of pumps, 6 120mm fans on two rads not to mention the 2x 200mm and 1x 120mm fans in the case, 2x fan controllers, 2x water temperature displays plus several led's.

Can you even choose a psu that isn't in the list because none of those are in the drop down list in the configurator. If you need to pick one that is on the list the only one that has a Hybrid fan mode that is in stock is the XFX XTR 750w.
