Is 5th august the rumored release of skylake or when they will tell us the release date?

We don't know for sure, though it's likely they'll be available for purchase after the NDA ends on the 5th.

Bear in mind Z170 motherboards are already in stock and selling on many retailers... ;)

I'd be surprised if it's not available extremely soon after the announcement. There was an article today saying an Australian retailer had already started selling stock early (at a heavily inflated price) and they had photos of the box art.

Trying so hard not to upgrade from Sandybridge here, gonna try and stick it out for Skylake-E. 6 cores + DDR4 seems like a more worthwhile upgrade.

I was real enthusiastic until about ten minutes ago, when I read the ten years of Intel CPU article over on techspot, which was a rude wake up call. So I hear you! Any details on Skylake-E?

I'd like to upgrade from Ivy Bridge myself. I'm still utilising 99% GPU in games so I am fine for the mean time, but, it'd be nice to not have to worry about my PC for a few years.
