Is 6.1 always possible with 7.1 + amps?

Hi

My cinema room is not really viable for 7.1 as I'd have to mount a speaker on a door. It would be perfect for a central rear speaker however. That said 6.1 seems so very rare among enthusiasts that I wanted to find out if there were any technical reasons to steer clear of 6.1 and either go 5.1 or 7.1... yes I realise the single rear would potentially limit your Atmos ability should you choose to upgrade later.

No technical reason, but 5.2.1 Atmos is better than 6.1 surround sound IMO.

Slowly upgrading my home cinema kit one piece at a time on a budget. Atmos will come eventually but unlikely to happen for another few years I expect. Still rocking an old Sanyo PLV-z5 and Denon 3803 so after a few stopgaps.
