If you have a graphics card that can maintain the fps to make the most of 120hz then go for it. Or if you are planning on some sort of 3d gaming in the future also go with 120Hz.
To be honest I had the SAME problem. A friend has a 120hz monitor and i played on that and on a 60hz monitor and you can tell the difference but for me personally and I game a lot and do 3d work, 60hz is perfect.
The difference for me is 120hz is smoother but 60hz is very good and I am happy with it.
Again if you have the graphics power etc for 120hz then go for it.
