Is 650W enough for a 980Ti?

Sup everyone, quick question:-

I've got a Corsair RM650 PSU. I've also got an overclocked FX-8320, 4x4GB of RAM, a stack of SSDs and HDDs, a discrete sound card etc... Would I be able to add a 980Ti into the mix without upgrading my PSU? Would you recommend it?

According to Tom's, the max draw of the card under "torture testing" is 250w. So you should be fine.

Thanks chaps :)

Hypothetically though, what's the worst that could happen if my PSU isn't powerful enough? Fried components, or just a PC which won't boot?

If your hardware can draw more power than your psu can supply then...

Your computer will run fine up until the card demands more power than it can get.

This would be in the middle of a game or a stress test.

At which point the PSU will say **** it and cut the power.

You can power up the computer again but the problem won't go away and you may get data and software issues from the power cutting out like this.
