Hello,

I have a 3080 Suprim X arriving tomorrow and I currently only have a 750w power supply. Some websites online are recommending 850w but some say 750w minimum.

My PC has 2 NVME SSDs and 2 SATA SSDs and a Ryzen 3800x with 16gb of ram. If I don’t overclock the GPU, will 750w be enough? It is a Corsair RM750.
And what will happen if I don’t have enough power, will it damage the components?

TIA

You have a good psu and it should be more than enough. The problem with these new cards seem to be that they have spikes in their power draw and not all psu's can adjust itself quickly enough which leads to shutdowns, blue or black screens and instability. The best thing would be to try it and see how you get on, it won't damage your pc just that it may become a little unstable. It is not very easy at the moment to get a quality large capacity psu at a good price so try what you have.

i think it'll be fine.

I run a 750w sff PSU in my rig - details in sig, both with light overclocking, with a DDC pump connected and they are fine. No instability issues whats-so-ever
