Hi Guys,

My friend dropped his PC over to me to look at because it wouldn't boot.
It looks like some type of "alien".

Bad news is that the PSU isn't pumping enough juice round anymore.

Spec:

Intel QX9770
CPU water cooled by an EK block + radiator
Asus mobo
2x kingston 1066 DDR2 RAM
2x nVidia 7950 GX2
1x WD Sata drive
ridiculous amounts of lighting

I have tested it with my spare Corsair HX 750W and i can get it to boot fine.
But im guessing under load the requirements will be too much for a 750W, would 850W cut it?

(Also the case is possibley made of lead or antimatter because it weights a frickin tonne!!!)

Using: http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

Minimum PSU Wattage: 419 W
Recommended PSU Wattage: 469 W

Thats with a ton of lights, no overclocking, a few watercooling bits..

750W will be plenty for that system, what PSU did he have before?

Bet it was some crappy '850W' generic thing which was pumping about 400W..

You've got it spot on, no branding on the side of it just a sticker with 850W stuck on it.
Its pretty hefty as well almost twice the size of my Corsair unit!! its not going to be fun removing it!
Nice little tool that. cheers.
