Hi. Any help appreciated!
So I know the output signal is 10bit and the same regardless but some "10bit" panels are in fact faking it by doing a kind of flicker between two adjacent colours very quickly. I think I have the theory down but what I don't know is if it's noticeable. And if it is, does it make a difference the refresh rate of the monitor?
I want to do a monitor upgrade but I can hold off if there's a good reason to. One might be if I should wait until real 10-bit monitors are available. In my mind I think this sounds like when all those "HD-ready" TVs were a thing but maybe I'm wrong.
FWIW, I'm currently trying to choose between these three monitors:
LG 32" 32UN880 3840x2160 UHD 4K IPS 60Hz Free… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)
LG 38WN95C 38" 3840x1600 IPS NANO 144Hz 1ms F… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)
▷ LG 34WK95U 34" 5120x2160 Nano IPS 5K2K HDR600… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)
I don't game. But I do want the quality to be as high as possible for staring at it for work all day long. And I don't want to be had by buying something that isn't what it says it is.
