Is a 6 series 5450 Equivalent due?

more than likely I would have thought. Not sure what improvements one would bring or whether it would be worth upgrading from an existing card though.
 
I don't really see the point in low end DX11 cards? It's not like you'll really be able to do any gaming with DX11 effects enabled on them...

They're perfect for HTPC's (that aren't used for gaming) and general home PCs, but yeah, you're right.... it always makes me laugh when you see the marketing blurb on the box talk about DX11, latest tech, etc.
 
Double post....

Can't see the 6450 for sale anywhere. Looks like its just an OEM card at the moment.

EDIT - Just googled and found a news article. Came out this week for Dell and HP, out "next quarter" to everyone else.

DX11 wise, they can be useful for things like direct compute, or running apps that use DX11 that aren't games (such as 3DS Max), otherwise, the main reason people are interested in them is because they often come with new features that the last range didn't have.
