Is a 770 a worthwhile upgrade over a 295 GTX?

Hi all. Just wondering about this. It's been ages since I upgraded my PC, and I've noticed that the newer games are not running quite as smooth as I'd like. For instance, I'm getting stutters on Batman AA. My system also includes an i7 920 @ 3.6GHz and 6GB ram.

I've a bit of a backlog of games to get through, but in the future I'd like to play the usual FPS games (Crysis 3, Metro, etc). Worth it do you reckon?

Definitely, used to run sli gtx 275's which were similair to a 295. Moved to a single gtx 470 back then and it was quite a nice step up. 770 will be a very noticeable improvement.

Big yes i found a pair of 470's was a big jump over my 275's and a 670 clocked to 680 speeds was faster than 470 sli

So you should see a massive jump in FPS

Mr May, we seem to have shared upgrade paths of late, i also went from 275's then had 470 sli, tri sli 670's is a no go though.

OK - thanks for the encouragement guys. I've just ordered the Zotac AMP version, which is modestly overclocked, but didn't cost much more.
