Hi,

Currently running an Asus 7850 1gb and it can struggle a bit on high/ultra on 64 player maps.

I have been thinking of upgrading it to a 7950 and overclocking it (if required) but i was a unsure if i should hang on a bit in case bf4 needs something a bit more powerful or just bite the bullet and get one anyway.

I have read through the forums quite a bit and the 7950 seems to be the best bang for buck card out atm. That being said i read somewhere the 8xxx series is due to be released in q3? not sure if that is true or not.

What do you guys think? buy now or wait a bit.

Yeah a second hand 7950 looks a good option, i was wondering if bf4 would be free with cards around the time of release. It most likely will be and will save me £40 on buying it so it makes sense to wait to to buy a brand new card.

Just need to find a reasonably priced 7950 now if im buying second had :)

You're asking to upgrade for a game that isn't out and will be released with newer generation cards?

the 7850 is a good card, but as said in my op it struggles a bit with current 64 player maps which i am currently playing. i guess +1 to your post count though.

I think i can wait, but my money is telling me to do otherwise :)

i've lowered the settings to a playable level, but you know how it is guys, got the upgrade itch haha.

Yeah my cpu and gpu is overclocked, to be fair it's not a constant issue, just now and then.

It's just me wanting to play around with my setup more than anything and i was curious to see if people thought a 7950 would be up to the job for BF4, i gues it's one of those things where we won't know until we see some real world benches. Can't rely on any specification requirements from EA :)
