Hi guys,

I have recently bought a Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce OC, and I was wondering if there is a backplate avaliable for it that can be used with the air cooler?
The card seems rigid because of how the cooler is mounted so its pretty much just for aesthetics.

Any ideas? Or is my only option to get someone like Cold-Zero to make me up an acrylic one?

Cheers Guys

EK-FC do Backplates separately, for example... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-607-EK

Check compatibility http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/waterblock/3831109869017

Google "Backplates AMD 290X"

Will that fix to the card with the air cooler though? I was under the impression you could only fit the EK backplate when a EK waterblock was fitted?

Your probably right.

With mine the Backplate screws in from the cooler side, the cooler is fitted by the 4 screws around the GPU.

Alternatively you could measure it up a good to a metal cutter, get them to cut a plate of Alloy and some studs to size. Drill the holes, Paint it and bolt it to the PCB through the backplate side fastened on the cooler side with slim nuts.

Mine has screws into the Backplate from the cooler side but i dot see why it wouldn't work the other way round to hide the nuts.
