Is a CPU cooler necessary for this build?

I am not OC'ing (when I do eventually I will buy a cooler). So do I need a cooler or not? Thanks in advance.

If you are not OC'ing, then assuming you have purchased the retail and not oem version of the cpu you will be fine with the stock hsf. You definitely need a heat sink of some description though, on any build
