I've probably mentioned something before I can't remember, but going from my i3 , would only a K chip be only option? Ie I could get a i5 4460 for £90 in a 2nd hand shop, but even if I could get over £60 for my i3 I wouldn't want to go to the trouble if the i5 would make no difference what so ever.

In games etc from my i3.

I missed out on a K model for same the other week and this none K is in regular shop I use so it's very tempting, being a quad I am wondering if performance in the division and fallout 4 for example will improve? Mean the division is perfectly fine as is, but as you know my i3 is a dual core with HT so not a proper quad.

The four physical cores may help, but it depends on the actual speed of the CPU. Your i3 is actually faster than a 4460 - 3.6GHz vs 3.4GHz Turbo on the 4460.

There are non-K chips which are faster than your i3, but the 4460 isn't one of them.

seeming as you have a h81 chipset in your sig, then a k version of the cpu wouldn't be a wise investment, you may not even see a considerable increase given you stick with your 270x. The lower clocked i5 may provide higher minimums but the average could take a hit in some games. Try and get your hands on a higher clocked i5, if you want to go for "k" skew cpu then you should upgrade to a z97 or z87 motherboard
