I tend to upgrade every 3 or 4 years or so.

My current PC (spec below). Is still running very nicely and gets performance I'm happy with in most of the games I play. I recently started playing AC-Unity and sure enough it drops to 15fps in certain areas which is not OK.

So the question - what is the bottle neck (I'm 99% sure it's the GPU but it would be nice to get you guys to confirm).

8GB Ram
Intel i5-2500 @ 3.3GHz
AMD Radeon 7850 2GB GPU
Asus Z68 chipset MB
Game at 1920x1080

I never go for the current 'fastest' as you pay 3 times as much for 15% of the speed.

But where do I look for an worthwhile upgrade ?

Ran GPU-Z and GPU was constant at 99% with CPU at about 65%.

So - Where is the sweet spot for an upgrade ?

AMD or NVIDIA ? I'm guessing at least 4GB of VRAM for modern games But any advice gratefully received....

Happy to spend ~£300 but only if that is a much better (50% greater) performance than £200. After a while you are paying a fortune for an extra 2fps.

Thanks for the help guys....
