Is an X-Fi worth it?

Hello all.

I currently have a Sound Blaster Live! sound card, but I was thinking of purchasing an X-Fi extreme music edition, since this SB Live is rather outdated now.For example, when I'm on vent, my sound card broadcasts a noise on vent(and ts) thats ear piercing! It makes my friends on vent want to kill me! My friend has the same exact card, and the same EXACT thing happens to him. So my final question: Is upgrading to X-Fi worth it? Will I see a noticable sound difference?

Edit: My current headset is an Icemat SIberia.

Yes if you use PC speakers. Yes if you use Hi-Fi (although the sound enhancing features are designed for PC speakers)

So if I don't use speakers, then the X-FI isnt worth it?

NO NO NO. If anything it is IDEAL for headphones. It is loaded with features, such as the one Phil describes.
