Is anyone else having problems with sites not resolving and throwing up "Can't find server" errors recently? This is happening on major sites like Google and the BBC.

Plusnet, and for some bizarre reason they didn't list a major DNS problem they were having on their status page. So of course, when I checked there nothing was showing as wrong. However, upon reading through a few posts on their forum it seems they screwed the pooch when manually running some DNS script or something.

Getting it here on BT - and my openDNS fallback was very laggy - I zero'd my current DNS servers to get new ones and rebooted router and its been working ok since.

I had this issue last night with Plusnet as well, half of websites seemed to work ok, other half didn't. Rebooting my router fixed it so I had put it down to the lightning we had earlier in the day.

I had similar problems a couple of days ago. I put it down to the heat and thunderstorms too.

no problems on bt or virgin cable here

try rebooting modem/router and maybe use opendns

what are you guys doing on plusnet.. they implement more traffic management than the centre of london in rush hour.

i had similar problems using opendns (only a router reboot would sort it), went back to using isps own config and not had a problem since
