Recently went from xp 32 to w7 64.

The whole "upgrade" is a bit meh, I have a dx10 card and in dx10 games I cant tell the difference between 9 and 10.

Its also a bit iffy with certain older games like battlefield 2 which I still play.

I'm still upset from having to move from Dos 6.22 to Win95 to play games

Edit: actually that did make me angry at the time :p

I'm sure if I compared a screenshot of dx9 and dx10 I could see the difference, its just not a "blown away omg WOW" kind of step up I was sort of expecting.

Exactly, there's a difference, but not enough for me to say "I have to spend money to have this now". :) There are other reasons that would though. :)

why would anyone use xp :D

Why would anyone use Win7?

Having recently bought a new pc i have upgraded to win 7 64bit... Having more ram is good but this is the only positive thing i have to say... windows 7 is a bit prettier but then thats not really important, it doesn't do anything that XP couldn't.. Could have gone for XP 64 and i would have been just as happy

i actually agree with you i put it asa joke cause of all the bashing i got about bf3 not supporting xp :p

i will be adding w7 to my main gaming pc very shortly but only because of bf3 and no other reason

Direct X10 / DirectX 11 / IE9 / User Account Control / Aero / Superfetch / Better security / I could go on but I think I've made my point.

Also XP 64 bit is nowhere near as well supported as Windows 7.

Xp was good for its time it lasted a good while but with vista which was not too bad and started the ball rolling to a newer OS in general for a lot of people it is then when Win7 came out the big push came because not only was it a lot better to use it also actually pushed gaming performance forward and not just as good as xp but now xp is the slower system when gaming. When dx11 gets even more main stream the fps difference will be a greater i think due to the efficiency of it. Of course presuming u have a dx11 card or 10 at the least.
