Is anyone running Kodi on a Fire TV Cube?

I've got an Android TV and have recently tried the Kodi app for playing content and the performance is shocking!

I know it's a limitation with the TV because I tried Kodi through my son's Xbox and the difference was night and day in terms of quality and stability!

Anyway I don't want to use his Xbox and so quite fancy picking up a dedicated box to use instead and the Fire TV Cube seems to fit the bill!

Has anyone got any experience of using the Cube as a Kodi player or have any other suggestions?

I put Kodi on the latest Fire Stick 4k bought from the last Prime Day and it's more buggy than my old Fire Stick. The most frequent bug is if i watched a movie in Kodi, turned it off and the TV. Next time I turn it on it would resume what i was watching before, but i am still on the Amazon landing screen, with the audio from the movie i was watching in the background playing. I thought i was going mad for the first few times, wondering what the dialogue was.

Then sometimes it just dumps me out of the app.

I hope the Fire Cube is more stable but somehow i don't expect it to be.

Thanks for the feedback - I'm not expecting it to be perfect but it's got to be better than the native app on the TV!

I could probably make do with the Xbox with how often I use it but but for some reason scraping the show metadata is ridiculously slow!?!?

Quite tempted with the Nvidia Shield Pro but it's quite a bit more expensive!

Can always get the 4k Fire Stick, it's not slow at all. Speed isn't something i can moan about it.
