Spec Ops: The Line is an action-packed Third-Person Shooter that delivers heart pounding physically close combat through a squad-based play mechanic. Players lead a team of three characters, Captain Martin Walker, Lieutenant Adams and Sergeant Lugo. Each character has his own distinct personality and specialized skills, and the mature story they each play a role in explores the dark side of war in a realistic way, in which there are no good outcomes, only hard choices. As missions are completed more advanced weapons and equipment are made available. In addition, the desert environment of Dubai is brought into the game in a unique way with stunning visuals, and dynamic sandstorms that actively effect level designs, and which can be used to help and hinder progress. The vertical interiors of Dubai high rise buildings also provide tactical advantages and risks that can used be by players. Multiplayer campaigns bring new modes and unusual situations and environments to expand the single player experience.

I think it looks quite interesting

I downloaded this for the xbox (Was still saving for PC).

Really cracking gameplay. Its over the shoulder like the new Ghost Recon. I enjoyed it.

Very army of 2 kind, just with a bigger squad, will defo be trying it out on PC.

I just played a bit of it. It was quite fun.

  • Gameplay is very Mass Effect 3, and reminds me a bit of Mercenaries. Could be fun in MP with squads.
  • Graphics are not great, I imagine they will be improved for release. Performance was great also. Some very nice textures, some horrible scenery.
  • Controls are good
  • Needs a bigger FOV!
  • It does feel very consoley

I would rate it as one to keep an eye out for in sales tbh, but MP might be ok.

I'm Interested in this has a similar storyline to Apocalypse now/Heart of darkness though I have to say the actual game play I've seen looked a little by the numbers but I will check out the demo on steam cheers for the heads up.

Started download it but it's not finished, still have to finish downloading Arma II: Op Arrowhead first, takes a while when you only have a 8MB line :p

Looks like a good story, but the whole wisecracking squad thing was wearing a bit thin by the end of the (i thought) quite long demo.
Ok graphics & gameplay-wise, it does feel a bit too consoley for my tastes, with some low-res textures in parts.
Interested to see how it pans out - it was fun to play, and had elements of Good Morning Vietnam in it - definitely one to watch.

Thought it seemed alright, I quite like 3rd person shooters, they often feel too linear though and this doesn't seem any different.

Don't see why more and more games feel the need to put you in a squad.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for it in the sales though.

Quite interested to see how this has developed seen as though it has been pushed back loads and been in development for ages. I remember playing the multiplayer beta on the 360 around 2 years ago. Gonna give it a download now.
