Hey there guys
Does anyone uses 55" or bigger 4K TV as monitor?

Planning to buy TV-monitor, and I do not know what size 49", 55" or 60"
I'm afraid that 55 may be too large as a monitor, although I like large displays (I also own projector)
Used for:
50% - PC
25% - PS4
25% - movies
DPI does not bother me because now I have 32" 1080p screen.
I'd like to buy Samsung 55KS8000 (UE55KS7000) or curved version.
What do you think ?
Thanks!

Make sure you buy a TV that can be calibrated, I've found most TV's to be quite hot on red. For example the overclockers bit on the top, with the blue/red swish, the red parts will be too high/too contrasty.

Personally I wouldn't recommend Samsung.

What GPU do you have? Just be aware that you obviously don't get any kind of adaptive sync tech with TV's and they are limited to 60Hz... so even if you have a GPU that can drive 4K decently, you're not going to see more than 60FPS.

I have 970 GPU.(planning to change to 1080) I know that 4k TV are limited to 60Hz, but I mostly gaming on PS4.
What to choose: 55KU6400, 55KS7000 , 55"LG OLED B6 or some smaller tv?
Thanks.

If you mostly game on a PS4 then you have no need for a UHD TV unless you have movies in UHD.

I wanted a samsung, and went out to see them and ended up falling for the OLEDs - they really do have amazing depth to the image.

But I kept walking back to the 49" 6400 & 6500, they are a really good size for close-up monitors. I would consider those as well, a lot cheaper too.

I went with the OLED because I had the money to get a slightly better picture, and wanted a 3D Monitor as well.

The LG OLEDs also have ABL (auto brightness limiting), be aware, it isnt very nice for things like anime with flashing fight scenes. I didnt know it is a requirement :o I am trying to find a sneaky workaround.

55" is massive. 49" and closer would be even better for me. I didnt get to compare HDR

More screen real estate than you could ever need for productive purposes (Photoshop, Premiere, Blender, etc) is the reason to go UHD, not so much gaming (as things stand). Some prefer it to a multi-screen array, and it may be better than an ultrawide depending on how you work.

Personally I think my limit for true monitor use (ie within a metre from your face) would be 40". Anything more just requires too much head movement in my opinion, but, as with most things monitors it's very much subjective.
