is anyone watching going cold turkey on channel 4

i was watching up to the point where this woman was telling her child not to come into the the toilet until the smoke had cleared because she was smoking heroin nice!!!

Seems blown way out of proportion to me. No doubt they've taken a few, exceptionally, exceptionally rare cases and tried to brand people with a problem as scum. I don't agree with this sort of shock-impact television. It's just stupid.

Heroin - The Overdoses?!

What I really loathe about 'reality tv' is that it doesn't portray anything near reality at all. The majority is a cut and paste job of all the worst case scenarios. It's Sensational TV, nothing else.

I was channel hopping before bed last night and stopped on this for about 20 seconds. I can't believe the utter rubbish that makes it onto TV these days.

And this is what I'm talking about. Pre-conceived ideas of something people don't understand. My comment was in regards to people with this problem as a whole. It's not all a Trainspotting-esque trial, and people like the mother discussed earlier can be nothing but a rarity.

It's sensationalism for sensationalism's sake, and actually makes a mockery of what must be a very hard time for people, dealing with not just withdrawal, but addiction itself.

Whether you agree with this being shown on TV or not, the program serves 2 very useful purposes: 1) It shows exactly what people go through when they're coming off the drug and b) It's a very powerful deterent to taking it in the first place.

Yes it's sensational, but for a very valid reason.

you should see drug abusers after their first night in prison, they run around desperate to score asking everyone, its truly awful to watch I can never imagine being that desperate, its known as "clucking"

I saw the advert for this and knew I wouldn't want to watch this but am I hearing this right they're getting paid £400 a day to quit taking drugs?
