Is asking for a good will gesture cheeky?

Basically, I've been sent a used case instead of a new one from a fairly well known retailer (not OCUK).

Now, this is a massive inconvinience to me as I have to send it back, wait for a new one, I've missed my powder coating slot and I may not get my build done before the 16th which is when I return to university.

Not only that, but I had to book a day off work to receive the case and may possibly need to do the same to get the replacement.

I know they'll probably replace the case and take the new one free of charge, is it cheeky to ask for a discout code/etc due to the inconvience? I'm probably going to have to halt this entire build til I get back from university.

You can ask, but how about a little perspective... Its a computer case... Is it the end of the world if you have to wait a little bit to build your l337 powder coated PC?

It was a £230 case, yes I think I'm justified. For them to sell you something used when you paid new is wrong. If you're just going to whinge about "perspective" and how people in Africa are starving and I'm bitching about a case GTFO my thread troll. It's a computer forum, how can you next expect these sorts of posts?

It's not a case of waiting a little, I'm going to have to wait a month or so during which the hardware I originally purchased is going to be pushing out of date. A month I would not have had to wait if they hadn't messed up.

I asked them politely, I wasn't rude in the email. Curious as to how they'll respond.

Yeah I did ask. However, the guy rang me from customer services today and mailed me out a new one to be delivered tomorrow along with collecting the new case. They gave a decent excuse and a very quick turn around a long with an apology.

Didn't offer me anything for my time but to be perfectly honest, customer support that good is enough for me.

What is with all the trolls though? I've never had this much of an issue before on a simple small thread.
