Is ATI Tool the be all and end all?

Ive been playing around with my yellows dots..

With a Maxium CCC overclock of a poor 790/1100 ATI Tool errors out on auto fan controls. If I turn the fans up a little to 40% I can get these clocks stable and overclock all the way to 825/1100.

I find it hard to believe my CF 4870 setup can error out @ 790/1100 although the temps do go well into their 80's.

Should I take ATI Tool all to heart, I dont have any problems in any other Apps.

Drop your memory speed, it use to limit my GPU OC, dropped it from 1100 to 1000 and gained an extra 25 on the core, memory is fast enough at stock so there is no need to max it out as it will show little benefits in gaming, regarding ATI tool, any artifacts shown for me means an unstable OC so i will back down until i get the all clear from tool.

1100 is pushing the ram, try turning the ram down, I have mine at 975 as after a while I get some yellow pixels in ATi Tool at even 1000.

I have experience this also. Any ideas anyone?
