Is auto detect ok for cpu voltage?

Hi I use a Q6600 and have had it at 3ghz for a while now on "auto-detect" for the cpu voltage. Is this ok?
I ask because I've had a number of malfunctions in the main game I play. They said one of the reasons could be too low/high cpu voltage if overclocking.

Interesting thanks, I will look more into this and test out stability.
The malfunctions happen in WoW (of all games). It's pretty/very cpu intensive that game. It gives me critical errors when I'm in locations with a lot of scenery. I had all graphic options at max since I thought my rig could handle it. HD4850, 4gb ddr2 8000, corsair TX650W, Abit IP35 pro xe
