Is battlefield bad company 2 likely to be best FPS of 2010?

Im not wanting to get Call Of Duty MWF 2. I played battlefield bad company 1 on my PS3 when it came out and i really liked it. I prefered it to Call Of Duty 4. Battlefield bad company 2 looks really good in my eyes better than Call Of Duty MWF2. What do people think of what they have seen of battlefield 2 bad company so far?

Can't say I'm particularly impressed, especially since we never seen the first one on the PC.

I think we're gonna see the amount of "omg bad companiez" threads overtake the "mw2 rage" threads. I'll get excited about this game when they're not using the MW2 rubbish to gain press attention.

From that multiplayer teaser and walkthrough i would say yea. The engine was in its infancy when they released BFBC, would have been crap if they banged on the PC.

They admitted the engine is still 'new' when they explanied about mod tools and such.

i haven't seen any thing else in 2010 that looks as good an fps as BFBC2 so yes it is likely to be the best fps of 2010.

mw2 came out this year.

I cant see this being game of the year judging on how many people worship COD, although that said with IW’s lack off innovation on MW2 this stands a blinkin good chance.

The real truth in the pudding will be when they release BF3… if they don’t hit the mark with that game, DICE FPS will lose a lot of fans.

Just remember BF:BC 1 was released too quickly according to Ben Cousins DICE leader, the frostbite engine was still in its total infancy…. Its grown a hell of a lot since then with the introduction of building destruction 2.0 and the producers are extremely happy with the way the final product will turned out...... so not only will we get true FPS warfare with choppers, tanks, cars etc… we get more game modes, 2 of which they say will be amazing and cant say until relase.

PS3 beta starts 2morrow in north America, so we’ll find out soon what its like. I have a clan ready to go in BF:BC 2 PC, would be gr8 to have you if you decided to go with the game. We forget though thats its not fans that choose Games of the Year, its usually publications and people within the industry. What IW did ruffled a lot of feathers, but look at how many devs kept quiet. For fear of the backlash that agreeing with their strategy may have caused?

Modern Warfare 1 has bagged Game of the Year awards for the past 2 years, despite being released in 2007. People believe hype too much and Modern Warfare 2 has generated a lot of it.

Yes a lot of hype and expectation, however for IW to have the game of the year 2 years straight you'd expect them to up the game play level a bit on the their sequel..

Be really interesting to see what win's game of the year.

The majority of the 'pro' and infact amatuer CoD4 players who have played the disgrace of MW2 have all expressed their anticipation of BC2

They are all sticking with CoD4 for the time being.

Of course they will, Dice have pretty much said "we'll pander to what you guys want until we decide we need to make changes lol". The problem is, if they as you said have played the game and disliked it they have still played the game. Their money makes IW's decisions look good.

In my opinion CoD4 was good, but not 2 years running Game of the Year good. Especially when it was recieving plaudits for its single player campaign (this is the same year Bioshock came out). Its overhype from inside the industry won it a lot of awards and the MW2 hype bandwagon is a lot larger.

Also, what exactly are you not impressed about? The only videos we have seen have been from consoles, and they looking bloody incredible. So if they are truthful about the fact they have given the PC version specific attention (ie. not a console port) then I think we're in for a treat.

^^, cant wait for both BFBC2 and BF3, like everyone I hope DICE take full advantage of the current IW situation and make a cracking replacement for BF2 / 2142

If the accuracy of the guns match MW then BFBC2 will be a load better. Thats the only failing of BF2.

Accuracy of guns in BFBC1 was a lot better than BF2. I have heard they have improved this further.

I think they are a bit too accurate at times in MW2, but I would like them to be similar. I always HATED what was called random deviation in BF2, their attempt at mimicking the fact that a bullet comes out of a gun different every time, or something like that. I could be talking crap.

Difference i find between COD and BF is that you can kill sum1 quicker in COd than BF, prehaps that will change it in the new BF.

Bullet drop should be fun... wonder if wind will be a factor... i.e if your sniper, your crosshair will be steady un-like COD where it feels like your drunk... and in BFBC you'll need to look at flags to see how wind is?
