Anyone know if our former team member BigStan is OK? I just wondering as his output has flat-lined at his new team.

Stan is great & will be chuffed when i tell him you was worrying about him.
He has moved flat recently & enjoying his new manor. I blame that & the fact he has a million cables to sort out on any lack of folding.

Malc, let him know I have bought a bottle of the 12yo Glenlivet and it was bloody gorgeous. Ask him what he recommends next :D

Has he not been permabanned? A lot of people who say they are leaving are usually helped by getting banned.

Think he left of his own accord because he just didn't feel he could carry on posting here.

Hi guys Malc told me you were asking about me so I thought I'd better say hi - I'm genuinely touched that you were concerned about me.

I do still pop in for a look now and then but haven't posted for a while for reasons posted previously - not permabanned - yet ;)

I haven't been producing lately as the company I work for, gave up the company flat I was staying in and I had to move. I am currently renting a room temporarily until I get my own place so I couldn't take the whole farm with me. I took the quad, the E6600, the E6300 and the two laptops and put the rest in storage.

When I got set up in my new place, I encountered a peculiar problem. The only machine which will upload completed work is the M1710 - the other four machines refuse to upload. They can do everything else (browse, download WUs etc) but not upload completed F@H WUs. The M1710 has no problem at all - just the other four

I tried for a few days to find a solution but can't seem to get to the bottom of the problem so I gave up and decided to have a short break from Folding.

I might be in my temporary place for a while but I might only be there a month or two so I will decide what I'm going to do once I find out what's happening. The farm will be reconfigured now that I have to pay the leccy. I'm thinking three quad rigs instead of the mishmash of quad, C2Ds, X2s, A64s etc.

I'm currently on the rig in Egypt and will be for another three weeks.

I see you guys are managing pretty well without me, so keep up the good work and.................

FOLD ON TEAM 10

Stan :)

It's very good to hear from you Stan - these lot are very caring and quite scarily observant :p :)

I hope you get your connection problems sorted soon, going all quads sounds like a very good plan to limit the impact of the non-free leccy when you finally get settled again.

Shame AMD are so late with their quads think there supposed to be a lot more energy efficient than the Intels cause there native Quad rather than two C2D's duck taped together :p

15yr old Dalwhinnie is a good bet and my personal favorite or if your looking for a budget buy you can't do much better than the 10yr old Aberlour for roughly £15.

Whisky is the only thing I spend money on. Other than PCs. Driving lessons. Beer. Music festivals... :p :D

The Dalwhinnie it is! Eventually. Need to finish off the Glenlivet or the Laphroaig first. [Don't like having lots of whisky at a time - makes it hard to choose :p]

Ahh that was me who posted. Was on Axeboys work machine!

The Dalwhinnie one is a lovely one, lovely smokey flavor. Expect to pay between £20-28 for it.

I agree. Trouble is, I have somewhere between 40-50 opened bottles of single malt to hand :o

If you like the 12yo Glenlivet, you should try the 18yo at some point. May be a little expensive at about £35 (not knowing what your budget is), but it's worth every penny. Failing that, the 10yo Aberlour as mentioned is very good, as is the Balvenie Doublewood.

I'd happily pay £35 for a whisky. Worth its weight in gold!

Have already tried, bought and consumed two bottles of DoubleWood! Tis one of my favourites.
