Just curious as I use Vegas for video editing and am quite happy with it but for titles Im stuck and dont want to jump into After Effects are penny count is quite low.

If Blender is good for it I'll get myself a starter book on the Kindle and get cracking.

Thanks

R.

PS: Or is there other software out there thats better suited?

I think Blender is fantastic. The latest version includes the cycles renderer too, fairly new bit of kit which uses your graphics card for rendering and is considerably more realistic.

That said, a lot of title sequences don't really need a pre-rendered approach, but if AE is out of reach then I'd use Blender too.

Nice one, any hints and tips for a complete noob?

My experience is in photography and video, plus some audio.

This is about as far as I can take Vegas using photoshop for title segments so dont laugh : http://youtu.be/FY9d9CwpMnc

Chaos - I think you nailed it with the title intro guide on Vimeo! Will start there and work along side the guide to get a feel for it all and see where it takes me :D

LOL not free at all with the starter edition costing near on £800 and rising to £3,300 for the full edition!

I think Ill dabble with Blender first and see how it goes, £800's more than my full Vegas and plug in suite cost at the moment :(
