Is Boris a sociopath?

I was listening this morning to a program on the BBC World Service where Charity Lee Bennett described the characteristics that identified her son Paris as a sociopath and I immediately thought of Bonker Boris.

A person with a personality which is characterised by extreme narcissism, amoral and antisocial behaviour,, a total failure to learn from experience, little attention to detail, lack of ability to love or establish meaningful long-term personal relationships, etc. doesn't really sound as if it makes him an ideal candidate for PM or in fact ANY role of significance, e.g. Foreign Secretary or commenting on Brexit -or- God forbid, sharing with Agent Orange a button that could lead to the end of mankind!

Surely the BBC could create a comedy / horror series with the bumbling idiot in a starring role?

If you consider sociopathy as a spectrum, many successful people, in all manner of fields, tend towards the higher end.

There appears to be a fine line between ‘über successful’ and ‘psychopathic killer’, with the two different outcomes often being defined by other factors such as upbringing or other outside influences.

That isn’t to say that every successful person will score highly for sociopathy (or that an unsuccessful person won’t). Nor does it mean that every high-scoring person is a serial-killer-in-waiting.

It just seems that many of the traits you’ve described are beneficial if you want to reach the top of your chosen profession or you want to go on a killing spree.

I highly recommend Ron Johnson’s book ‘The Psychopath Test’. It’s both entertaining and insightful, but it will leave you questioning where everyone you meet appears on the spectrum. :D

I agree with @dowie about Trump, although usually a high sociopathy score correlates with higher than average intelligence. I guess there always has to be an exception that proves the rule. :p

Wait if sociopaths make great business leaders how can they have "failure to learn from mistakes" as a trait?

Stockhausen must have a man crush on Boris. It’s the only explanation for this constant obsession.

Half past six in the morning and already thinking of “Bonker Boris” posts.

Or maybe he's jealous because he doesn't bonk as much as Boris. Right wing politicians do seem to have better sex lives :D

This was what Boris was bonking:

I think the words arrogance and pride describes it a bit better.

He can't let go of his public schoolboy elitism, the place where you build up all your 'genius' ideas etc. People can't admit their own failings and weaknessness

Grotesque, anachronistic, atavistic, disaster capitalist-lite, intentionally dumb, disingenuous, crude, overbearing, adulterating, chauvinistic pig. I could go on, but that'll do.

Oh also incredibly (in that he clearly cares about his career, regardless of what most people think of it), short-sighted if he thought his tenure as Foreign Secretary was anything other than May giving him the finger.

I know stockhausen's a bit much but damn dude that's harsh

Yo, if that's what Boris want's to be, i'm not going to care too much, unfortunately he was or is still in a position to ruin the lives of millions, so quite frankly, i do care.

Oh how we all long for the halcyon days when Boris was mayor of London and therefore his ability to entirely decimate the Country was greatly diminished. We should all enjoy this period of relative quiet, it's going to be a lot worse when he's PM.
