Is CISS ink system from Epson R285 compatable with Epson P50?

Hi there, basicly in work we have a Epson R285 with CISS system, its brilliant, cant fault it at all, does the job perfectly. However, we had problems yesterday and couldnt suss it out (waste thing has locked us out basicly from what ive been reading).

Boss has said we could get a new one. Looked around and it seems the R285 has been replaced with P50.

Does anyone know if we could use the CISS ink system with the P50 if we purchased that? I had a look around and somebody mentioned it wont wont because of different pins or clips (cant remember which sorry). Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Or suggest an alternative printer that we can use the current CISS ink system we already have? Boss is willing to pay upto £130. Hope this helps, hope someone can advise me!

Search video, top one is what i have., & vid is from place i got it.

Its annoying as it took 4 resets b4 it allowed the ink 1st time. Great when going, but have to lift them out a half inch & back in once a month or so when it decides i have wrong ink again !

Edit, just looked & its £127, for ink & printer set. I got mine a year ago for £109. Ink is still quarter full !!!

Had a good try at resetting the R285 and downloading various resetting programmes, none of which worked.

Lemin, as we already have the CISS for the R285, would we be able to use that for the P50? Instead of buying a new one, make use of the old one?

When you 'reset' P50, and one a month or so when you lift them out, is it a simple 5minute process?

We been well impressed with R285 for the 3+ years we had it, superb on printing, minimal problems, costs hardly nothing, and hoping the P50 will be the same.
 
R285 ciss cartridges are different, but you can drain the ink for a refil later.

Press button twice, lift em a bit & replace, press button, 2 mins done. Has always worked for me after this using their ciss. Nearly cried at first install, cos you have to kill warranty to fit, & it looked bad. Then i noticed i hadnt removed the bit of card which pretends the top is closed, doh.

This used to work on xp with my old 285...

Dont know about that, it looks good but has mixed reviews.

P50 has smaller cartridges. I got it mainly for the dvd printing. Find a used Epson Stylus Photo R285 R265 R360 & your ciss will work.
 
If you use the epson website to locate the nearest service centre, they can probably reset the waste ink counter for you, assuming that is what the problem is.
