We seem to be on a quest to always gather data / information, for example the Internet and then building ever faster connections to the Internet and now we're moving more into AI, quantum computing, etc. It makes me wonder do we ultimately see data, information and the quest for knowledge as the most important thing out there?

AI answer :D :

P.S. I am not under the influence.

It's a bit of an endless question really. Data/Information was around way before the Internet started. We've just developed ways of storing more of it, and being able to access it very quickly.

If all data/information was lost tomorrow, humanity would be put back to the stone age.

For me it's being happy.
Nothing really matters in the end. So try and be happy and do as little harm as possible.

Yes, but I’m saying the Internet is part of our quest to gather ever more information. If we started back at the Stone Age the cycle would just start over.
