While both "illegal" it doesn't really matter as the "legal" side of piracy is a civil matter providing you're not distributing it to others.

Got to admit - I do get somewhat annoyed that I've paid for a movie, and then actually get warned to *not* pirate it.
I just paid money, and now you're not thanking me for paying, but instead saying "Ah, but you could be a pirate!" and delay me in watching the movie?.
Some DVDs actually do that now - they thank you for supporting the film industry by buying the film. Gives me a warm feeling rather than the sense of outrage I get from those unskippable anti-piracy ads.
