As all the SFF experts are here though I'd post this again here. Below I've got the specs of a system I want to buy and build within the next week give or take, should cost just under £800 and should kick ass.

Just want to know what you guys think, also do you think it'll be silent enough? Cooling-wise it has 2 120mm fans and using passive cooling the PSU fan will suck area from the CPU, should be enough right? Lastly any prospect of overclocking like in a year or 2 if need be?

Thanks guys.

If you're willing to stretch a bit further with budget then I have a few suggestions.

- Maybe stretch to a 640MB GTS or even the 2900XT? The ATi card is faster, but if noise is an issue it's probably better to take the 8800.

- I'd recommend getting another of those fans, as the SG03 takes a pair of 120mm fans in the front, and the supplied one isn't up to much in terms of airflow to noise.

Apart from that, it's a good spec. :)

If all goes well and I sell my blasted PSP this week I can always buy another fan and maybe push for a better GPU, is it really worth it though?

And how do you think silence/cooling and OCing will go with this set up?

Its worth getting the 640mb card as its only £20-30 more than what your paying for the 320, will a NT06 Lite(no fan) be upto cooling a quad

As for overclocking the 8800 they clock really well, the stock cooler is great and pretty much silent, cpu your gonna be pushed , specially with the NT06.

Maybe I should get a better cooler CPU cooler then, I wanted something better than stock for keeping the Q6600 cool yet silent. If I get a cooler with a fan wouldn't I have to face the PSU the other way then?

Double the memory for only £20-30 >.< damn the temptations, if all goes well and a friend of mine buys my useless PSP for £100 then I can get it which will be great.

Just wondering but anyone know when the new Razor mice come out the 3G models? I'd like one before I go uni :D.

The NT06 is designed by Silverstone to work with the PSU, it just fits under the PSU fan perfectly so that the fan is drawing air through the fins of the cooler.

so the cooler is fine for the Q6600? Sounds good might as well get that paper now.

If you keep it at stock the NT06 should be fine for a Q6600, you might get away with a small overclock say to 2.6/2.8 but make sure you get a G0 Q6600 and watch those temps!

Yeah it's a G0 (which I dunno what the hype is about with). If I did OC it 3 GHZ would be my max :). Ok, I'll send the spread sheet stuff to my Dad so he can look over it and send me the money. Thanks for your help guys.

G0 uses less power so runs cooler, so potentially has a higher overclock potential (3.6-4.0Ghz), or a lower temperature potential at normal overclocks (3.0-3.2Ghz)

Oh I see that explains a lot, coolies I'll just check the temps when I get the system and see how higher I can get without breaking anything. What's the normal number for a high temp?

I'm going with a very similar rig, apart from the cpu and graphics (a quarter of the price for the e2140, and an x19 card from somewhere for half the gts).

Should be nice keep us posted.
