Is far cry 2 worth £10 (PS3)

My local game retailer is selling far cry 2 for the PS3 for £10........

Is it worth buying this game for that price or not ???

Been playing it on the PC lately, I bought it for a fiver and it's really not that great at all. There's some nice touches in it and the weapons have a good 'feel' to them, but it's let down by poor hit and damage detection on enemies and a very crude enemy AI system. It's hard to explain, but it looks like a modern game and yet feels like quite an old, basic one.
 
Sorry for thread-jacking. Is it any different on xbox 360 or still crap? i've been looking for a new game for when i finish tomb raider underworld and farcry 2 keeps catching my eye on a certain site for £9.99
 
Some people really enjoyed the game. For me personally it was mostly a let-down, but the game world and graphics I loved. Could have driven round it for ages.

Stupid game design decisions made even driving around become annoying for me, because enemies would always re-spawn - even if you had only killed a bunch of enemies in one place mere seconds before!

The only way to tell for sure, unfortunately, is to try it for yourself. Perhaps try reading some reviews and see if the problems with the game are thigns that would bother you or not.
 
I finished it and a couple of my mates did too. One of them hated it at first, but learned to love it :)
 
For a tenner, I’d say grab it – but I guess it’s too late now.

I quite enjoyed it, I don’t think that it should have been ‘Far Cry’ though, as it didn’t seem to have anything to do with the last game, maybe they should have released it as a new franchise.

As others have said, there are a few points that make the game come unstuck, the AI and respawning enemies for example, but keep at it and there is still quite an enjoyable game in there, bit of a shame that stealth didn’t work at all in it though :(

The ending was also pants imo.

I think the best bit about it was simply the exploring. Lots of beautiful landscape to traverse though. If that's the kind of thing you like, you'll be halfway there to enjoying it.
 
No bought Fallout 3 for £13 Fallout 3 is worth 18 times more than FC2 work that out.

Far Cry was awesome they forever ruined that franchise with FC2

The 'real' farcry 2 is Crysis, all of the devs that made Farcry (Crytek) moved on to make crysis but the intellectual property known as farcry stuck with ubisoft. As a result a completely different team of people developed the abomination known as farcry 2.

And no, Farcry 2 isn't worth £10.
 
If it goes below £10 I might pick it up for cheap trophies. I get really fizzed off with the money I wasted after buying a game to only find it doesn't support trophies.

But Crysis was crap and FC2 was even worst so, for console owner are they going to pull out a cracking game with crysis 360 or 2 or FC3 :confused:
