Is G-Sync useful below 144 frames?

I'm looking to get a new monitor, and was just wondering, would it be for games like counter strike where there will be high fps? as I mostly play more graphic driven games and doubt I would be getting 144+ on them.

So would g-sync still be beneficial below that? Thanks.

It only works below 144hz and yes it's very beneficial in smoothing out large variations in framerate and eliminating tearing.

For games like CSGO, you're better off using a monitor which has ULMB or blur reduction mode which some gsync/freesync monitors have as well, you can't use both at the same time though.

Ok cool thanks man, I'm not a CSGO player really, play mostly games like Arma, GTA V and skyrim for instance, so that means having g-sync for them would pretty useless.

Are you able to reccomend any monitors? I've limited it down and am looking for a good 1440p monitor, with 120/144hz 25 or 27 inch, and I hear an IPS panel is good to have.

No, it wouldn't be useless :p I think you need to re-read what I said.

For GSYNC and those features you're limited to the ASUS ROG Swift and the new Acer GSYNC monitor.

Oops my bad ha, I see now,
I was looking at that Acer monitor as it looks so good, but that price is crazy, but still I lean towards it arghh

It is a lot of money and there seems to be an issue with quality control on them as there's been more than a few reports of dead pixels and backlight bleed in the thread.

I'll leave that to someone else to answer, only monitors I've looked at or read about recently are gsync or freesync ones.

Any suggestions for a non g-sync monitor?

Need more info bud :)

What will you be using it for, just games or other stuff? Depending on this...

1. What's your budget?
2. What physical size do you want (24, 27, 32, 40 etc)
3. What resolution do you want?
4. What pixel pitch (relates to physical size and resolution)
5. What panel type? (IPS, VA, TN?)

I currently game on a Rog Swift. I can safely say I will never buy another monitor for gaming that doesn't have Gsync. It's that good when it's all working properly.

Hey sorry for late message, I now have ordered the the Rog Swift due to reviews and it ticked all the boxes but IPS, but looked at the pros and cons of TN vs IPS and for gaming the Rog suited it perfectly, thanks guys! xD
