Is G0 that important?

I really want to upgrade my PC and the Quad core will significantly improve my work for my research. I am dithering at the moment, holding out for the G0s but I am starting to question wether they are really worth waiting for.

I doubt I will OC above 3ghz to be honest...

What do you think?

Well, for what clock range will having a G0 make a difference? Are we talking a gain of 100mhz or so OCing with a G0?

So if I want to run one around 2.8ghz-3ghz on a Noctua it would be fine really?

Doubt Ill be at the extreme, not interested in running "orthos" and what not, just want the extra speed to be able to run Stata MP etc faster
