have you seen him using "we" when analyzing Manchester united's Game?

would you have kept Richard Keys and Andy Gray ?

I never used to like him when he played for United, but I've found he's quite neutral and talks a lot of sense, even when he's commentating on Liverpool games. So nowadays I quite like him, even though I want to hate him :p

Echoing all of the above want to hate him but he talks sense and looks a like a footballing genius when sat next to Jamie Redknapp/Niall quinn!!

He is a good pundit if not a very good one.

As a Liverpool fan yourself shouldn't you be questioning the absolute embarrassment that is pundits that have come from our club, they are nothing short of ****.

So what if he slips bias in every now and then, didn't he commentate the Liverpool ManU game at Old Trafford? Did very well, I wouldn't begrudge the guy if he let out a cheer. (Well after calming down about 10 hours after the game :p).

The best pundit on TV and one of the fairest when you have the nob heads like John Champion taking digs at certain clubs or players and being a passive aggressive senile *******.

Going off on tangents there a bit.

Basically I like him, I hated him as a player but looking back I didn't really I was just annoyed he was so successful and showed his passion like I would. Long may he stay, pre match/post match is actually not retarded now.

As a Liverpool Fan, I ****** loved Gary Neville as player. I respect his achievements, like so many made by players in better teams than they deserved to play in, he kept his place and won his medals. Good on him.

He's also a decent pundit. In fact, he shows the rest of them up. Much like he did as player. Gary ******** Neville. Ha ha. What a ****. Says so much more about the dross that abounds football than anything else. Ha ha.

I can't really tell from that post as its all over the place, are you saying he was in a team that was better than him and he was lucky to be in it, in which case you couldn't be more wrong.

He's one of the best fullbacks the league has seen, full stop. He had no pace, he's short, his entire ability to be such a good fullback lay in his outstanding, world class, almost completely unmatched reading of the game. He has an outstanding cross, bettered by only a few other players, played the right wing role, the overlap and was part of a fantastic partnership with Beckham, he's also a downright excellent pundit and its got absolutely nothing to do with how crap all the other pundits around are(for the most part).

He was a little **** on the pitch, as are many players, but he wasn't dirty, he didn't try to injure players, just rile them up, and he loved his home club.

There are a couple of dozen fullbacks in the league today who are rather crap positionally, reading the game, predicting danger and just use pure pace and no other attribute to save their arses, thats what makes Ashley Cole so good, he's actually excellent AND has the pace.

As for biased or not, who cares, why can't he prefer Utd, no one, ever, is unbiased, he doesn't criticise all Liverpool players and scream about how good every Utd player is. When a Utd player has a bad game he'll say it, just maybe not stick the boot in as hard, so what?

I stopped reading right about there. Ha ha. Yes. Gary Neville. The ****est most decorated footballer ever. World class. Ha ha ha.

You've never really paid attention to fullback have you? I could name you five I'd have in team ahead of him right playing right now. Never mind the hundreds I could name during his career. In fact there's barely I Liverpool player I'd swap him for. That was never the point.

World class. Ha ha ha. 'll give you one thing. He's miles better than his brother who is really ******* ****. But again - Phil shows up and doesn't bottle it, which shows up so many of the other "better" players every ******* week.

Gary's punditry is usually exemplary. Nothing unusual other than it shows up the other crap we get served whilst being told it's hot dinners. Which it certainly ****ing isnt.

Wanted to hate him but I can't because he's an excellent pundit.

This TBH. As a player I couldn't stand him. he was one of the biggest idiotd around and possibly one of the most unsporting football players I've ever seen play in the EPL. And yet he's one of the best pundits in the game. insightful, intelligent and sees a lot of what we don't as an ex player. COmpared to Alan, Alan and mark on the BBC he's leagues above them.

I think he is straight talking and doesnt spout the usual rubbish every week like the BBC cronies always do.

I think he's great, it's nice to have such a thoroughly knowledgeable pundit who doesn't feed out constant cliché one liners every ten seconds. He makes Sky Sports watchable, imagine if we were stuck with Niall Quinn, Alan Smith and Martin Tyler constantly. Or even worse, the dross that ITV have like Tyldesley, Townsend and the utter **** that is Chiles.
