Is Grid 60FPS ?

judging from the demo, it is definitely not 60fps. This is just by eye though, but it certainly does not look smooth, i would say its closer to 30-40

i'm amazed to find out it's only 30fps. It seems extremely smooth to me. I'm usually wary of 30fps racers as well, but trust me, grid DOES NOT feel like 30fps. (Although on rare occasions when there's a massive crash or something, the frame rate dips).

Try the demo.

First of all, the original post was a simple question that has been answered already, secondly the OP is entitled to prefer and like anything he chooses without people telling him he's wrong or stupid and thirdly, I also much prefer 60 fps in a racer, it is especially noticable when cornering quickly, 30fps just feels wrong.

That said, I didn't notice that GRID ran at lower than 60fps because I was distracted by the atrocious handling.

Do I need to add IMO?

It seems like 60fps because of the motion blur that gives movement and the sense of speed a smooth look to the proceedings. It's locked at 30.

Rented GRID today, love racers.

The car graphics are very nice, and the car feels reasonably connected to the road. Problems are that the road ahead isn't very clear, and the game seems to deal terribly with panning motion, ie when you turn a corner, there's a horrible loss of detail with the motion blur. Not sure if this is because it's 30fps or not, but it really suffers when panning, something Forza 2 is absolutely perfect at.

I am hoping that it won't annoy me too much as it looks like quite good fun.

Does anyone know if there's any benefit in upping the difficulty level, do you get more rep when you win or something?

I know what the OP means. I can tell the difference between a 60 FPS game (particularly a racer) and a game running at half that. You can really see it in Forza 2 for example.

However I've enjoyed and own PGR3 & 4, TDU and CM Dirt and would thoroughly recommend these all irrespective of frame rate. I will buy GRID but only when it's cheaper than the mid £30's price point it's at now, simply because I have too many games on the go already.
