hey all,

im in the mood for a new racer and i cant find any ps3 sim racers that get good ratings other then GT5:P and ive had that and it doesnt have enough to keep my attention for a long time... so is there any that you can suggest.

basically im after the closest thing to forza that is available for the PS3 as i want to drive road cars aswell as super cars but the only option for the PS3 for this style seems to be the NFS series and from what ive read NFS:Shift is more arcade then sim.

i know there is F1:CE but i played that to death and then got rid so fancy a new challange

I wouldn't even said that GT5: Prologue is decent, it's one of the most boring driving games I ever played.

Grid is far better.

Well as said Grid isn't a sim, but he's got a point... GT5 prologue is one boring game.... NFS Shift is about as much car sim as you're going to get.. Well its the one that'll allow you to tweak around with the car etc...

Problem with NFS Shift is that is very much a love it or loath it type of game..

As for GT5, not prologue I've long given up on ever seeing that for PS3.... PS4 anyone?

Trade in your PS3 for a 360 with Forza 3

i think id be just as well off getting an second hand one off ebay but its a big layout just for a few games that interest me that aint on ps3 also

i might see if i can pick up FC cheap if not ill hold off until the demo of NFS arrives as i read theres one coming on the 1st Oct

Without starting the whole that's not a sim debate (yeah right) I'm really enjoying NFS -Shift much more than I thought I would and much more than GT5 Prologue!

It's what I would call an arcade experience based on Sim racer core with the hardcore bits taken our (Tyre Wear etc) (TM) Maybe they should use that as their strap line ;)

With a bit of time tweaking the settings for my DFP GT Wheel I have got the handling up to almost the same as Race07/GTR Evo on my PC but not quite LFS!

There is a tad too much over steer but I haven't raced anything other than stock cars so far so that may change.

Anyway +1 for NFS Shift from me :)

Are there any DFPGT/G25 type wheels available for the Xbox as this really put me off grabbing an Xbox aswell for Forza :(

The microsoft wheel is the only decent affordable wheel for the 360. As i said in a previous thread though, it costs as much as a DFGT but isn't as good so it kinda fails on the value for money front. If you're made of money you can get a fanatec wheel but last i saw they were £200+
