Is having more intake fans better?

Hi all

I have the Antec P120 case and i have 2 intake fans at the bottom and 1 exhaust at the rear of the case,

Would i benefit from adding a couple more at the front?

If so would they be better as exhaust or as intake fans?

Thanks

o/ my fellow Swindonian.

In my experience it's best to have roughly equal, erring on the side of positive pressure (more in than out) to prevent dust ingress through non-filtered means.

Looking at it, it doesn't look like your case is really designed for this, so I'm out :p

Hello mate, thanks for your input... I know my case is not really designed the normal way :p I just thought adding more fans will be a good way to shift more air but not sure where to put exhaust fans if any... I may add an extra at the bottom though to bring in more fresh air

As per your other thread, I would go with 3 intakes at the bottom and a single exhaust at the rear.

The single exhaust should help guide the airflow towards the rear, and you will naturally get exhaust through the perforated slot covers and other rear vents.

Just wasn't sure if more would get me better results than current... I think I'll add another at the bottom, I just see all these fancy builds in this case with 3 at front 3 at bottom and 1 at rear but I'm guessing there putting out more hot air with overclocking CPU and GPU

It is really a water/aio designed case imo - the lack of actual front fan mounts means you can't get air directly towards a CPU cooler (which is obviously less of an issue with a big radiator mounted at the front/side to cool the cpu)

Case below for anyone who hasn't seen it

So as per my other cooling thread you would think AIO would be best, maybe a 240mm or 240mm Radiator at the front for CPU cooling
